President Barrow inauguration a 30kv power line. Bringing the Gambia closer to.its universal access to electricity goal
In yet another ground-breaking ceremony, President Adama Barrow Saturday launched the 30KV LaminKoto to Diabugu-Batapa electricity power line.
Highlighting the significance of the event, the President said the country is on course to attain universal access to electricity by 2025. He added that energy is critical to the country's development needs and that the exclusion of many rural people from the benefits of power is a “great social injustice”.
Additionally, the President stated that the task of stabilising the country’s power supply has been achieved to a desirable extent, adding that the next ambition is to give low-cost electricity to every household in the country.
The Eight Million US Dollars Project is a partnership between The Gambia government, the World Bank, the EU and European Investment Bank.
